Training FAQ's

Have a question that you don't see?
Please call or email us!

What do I bring to class?

We require your dog to be up-to-date on their Distemper/Parvo combination, and Rabies vaccines. Puppies must be on age-appropriate Distemper/Parvo vaccine schedules. Bordetella vaccines are highly recommended, but not required.  We gladly accept titer tests in lieu of Distemper/Parvo. We strongly believe in not over-vaccinating our pets. Send us an email if you would like more information on the dangers of over-vaccination.

Bring your dog on a flat 4-6 foot leash.  No chains or retractables are allowed in class. If your dog wears a harness to prevent pulling, front clip harnesses or head halters are preferred. A standard buckle collar, at a minimum, is required. No prong or choke chain collars. Martingale or limited slip collars ok.

Bring lots of high-value treats! More than you think you'll need. Bring a chewie, or stuffed Kong, to keep your pooch occupied during down time.

(Optional) A portable bed or blanket if your dog is trained to settle on a bed.

What do I do if I miss a class?

If you need to miss a class, please let your instructor know ASAP.  You may call, text, or message us through your customer portal. A make-up appointment can be scheduled the week before or after you are absent.  Make-up appointments are $15 for a 15 minute session.

What is your cancelation policy?

Refunds will not be given once class has started. A refund will be given if cancelation is over 1 week prior to the start of class. Refund requests within 1 week from class start are given at Positive Pooches discretion.

Who can I bring to class with me?

All members of the family who aid in training the dog are welcome to attend. Children under age 12 should be accompanied by an adult. Additional children under age 8 require an additional adult.
